Student's death: HC orders murder probe
NEW DELHI: The mystery shrouding the death of a student of Akash Institute in September which the police later brushed aside as a suicide case got murkier on Thursday as the Delhi High Court ordered registration of a murder case on the basis of an autopsy report.
Even as the Delhi Police was vehement that the report needed to be reviewed since it was contrary to the circumstances and statement of those who spotted the body, Justice R C Jain held that an FIR was required to investigate the matter further.

Justice Jain passed the order on the petition of the boy's father B D Singh, who flew from Patna to litigate against the police inaction.
Singh who had earlier received copy of the autopsy report following a court order as the police had refused to hand him one mentioned the findings of the medical board which conducted the test on his son.
According to the findings of forensic experts L C Gupta and S Deka the cause of death was extensive cranio-cerebral damage.
All the injuries were ante-mortem and the board had ruled out the possibility of a suicide. "Homicidal knock down by other party cannot be ruled out," the autopsy report had concluded.
According to Singh his son's body was found in the building adjacent to Akash Institute on September 13. The police claimed he had committed suicide after falling from the institute's terrace.
